Magno International School recently held its first Halloween celebration, bringing a mix of festive activities and reflective moments to our diverse school community. However, following the tragic DANA storm in Valencia, which caused loss of life and impacted many families, our school made thoughtful adjustments to the day’s plans. In solidarity, our Leadership Team decided to honor the victims by foregoing the traditional Halloween parade, using this moment as an opportunity to teach empathy and social awareness.

Adjusted Activities and Community Reflection

Our Halloween celebration continued in a modified way, providing a sensitive balance of learning, fun, and reflection:

  • Moment of Reflection: Teachers led discussions to help students understand the impact of the storm, fostering empathy and awareness for affected communities in our country.
  • Costume Optional: Staff participated without masks or even opted for no costume as a gesture of respect toward the victims and their families.
  • Creative Activities and Storytime: Students enjoyed Halloween-themed crafts and stories, with an emphasis on kindness and community.
  • Pumpkin Decorating Contest: Each class participated in decorating pumpkins, a tradition that showcased our students' creativity and spirit.
